Develop a Facebook Engagement & Moderation Strategy for The Parent Launch

This project is focused on supporting The Parent Launch Facebook group by assessing current engagement and moderation practices and creating a set of actionable recommendations. The goal is to ensure the group is active, welcoming, and aligned with our community guidelines.

A volunteer will help review existing content, identify opportunities for stronger engagement, and develop a short-term strategy or guide that our team can implement. This project will result in clear recommendations and practical tools to help staff and volunteers manage the group effectively.

Key Areas of Focus:

Community Engagement

Assess how members currently interact and identify ways to encourage participation.

Suggest strategies for discussion starters, responses, and fostering a positive, inclusive atmosphere.

Moderation & Conflict Management

Review moderation practices and provide recommendations for handling posts, comments, and disputes fairly.

Identify approaches to maintain community guidelines while reducing conflict.

Desired Skills & Qualifications

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Experience with social media moderation, community management, or creating engagement strategies

Familiarity with Facebook groups and online community tools

Passion for parenting, family wellness, and supporting others

This project will strengthen The Parent Launch, helping parents of teens and young adults feel supported and connected. By providing a clear strategy and guidance, the volunteer’s work will allow our team to foster a safe, engaging, and thriving community that empowers parents and families.

Our leadership team is aligned on goals and will provide context, background materials, and feedback.

Community guidelines, sample posts, and engagement examples will be shared.

The volunteer’s recommendations will be implemented by our staff, ensuring lasting impact.
