My goal for this Taproot Project is to create a set of clear and beautiful learning materials that help refugees and migrant families practice social emotional learning in daily life.

Social emotional learning builds self awareness, self management, empathy, relationship skills, and responsible decision making. We have strong content. We need a designer who can translate it into simple, inviting visuals that work in low tech settings and on phones.

Scope and deliverables
• A polished mini playbook for facilitators and teachers 20 to 30 pages
• A set of printable activity cards and posters 12 to 18 pieces
• A micro library of WhatsApp ready tiles and one page PDFs 10 to 15 assets
• A light style guide for colors, type, iconography, and templates we can reuse

Editable files in Adobe CC or Canva plus export ready PDFs and PNGs. We can provide brand references and examples of the visual tone we like.

We are hoping to develop the final package in October. Time expectation is two to five hours per week. We can flex around the volunteer’s schedule.
Through working with our organization on this project, the volunteer will support our mission by making social emotional learning accessible to people who rarely get tailored support.

Creshendo trains refugees to become community leaders. Our curriculum is modular, story driven, and easy to adapt. We deliver it in short lessons that can be printed, shared on WhatsApp, or used in live sessions. Your design will be held in the hands of a teacher in a shelter, taped to a classroom wall, or saved to a parent’s phone. It will help someone practice a breathing exercise, navigate a hard conversation, or make a thoughtful choice in a stressful moment.

Designers often look for work where craft meets consequence. This is that place!!! You will shape how thousands of learners understand their own emotions and how they support one another. We will credit your contribution, share outcomes, and send real stories of how your work is used.
My team and I have prepared for this project by organizing all content and decision paths so the designer can focus on high value creative work.

What is ready on day one
• Final copy for the first modules and activity cards
• Wireframes of page flows and WhatsApp tiles
• A bank of icons and photos with usage rights
• A single point of contact for feedback and quick approvals
• A short decision brief on accessibility and low literacy design

How we will collaborate
• One kickoff to align on audience and visual direction
• A weekly check in with rapid reviews in Figma or Canva comments
• Two review rounds per deliverable then final export and packaging

We have already mapped where each asset will be used in workshops, print packs, and WhatsApp. You will see your designs in action quickly, which makes the work rewarding.
